BigBox Indonesia continues to be a useful barometer for what's actually being deployed in Indonesian stores this year, as opposed to what's simply being discussed. Hardware and in-store technology dominated the floor — POS terminals, self-checkout formats, and a noticeably growing amount of interest in RFID-based stock accuracy compared to previous years.
We spent much of our time on the floor talking through RFID deployment with fashion and lifestyle retailers specifically — how tagging, stock counts and loss prevention change once inventory is tracked at the item level rather than relying on periodic manual counts. It's a capability we've deployed as an enhancement layer on top of existing POS platforms, and the interest at this year's show suggests more retailers are ready to move from "considering it" to a real pilot.
Good conversations, a busy floor, and a clear signal that in-store technology investment in Indonesia isn't slowing down. We'll be back next year.
